Email Article | Since that fateful day when I through my arms up in frustration and decided to save all the orchids that enter this house, I've acquired nine more plants! Don't worry, all but two of them are very small, and they only take up the top of one dresser in the spare room, as you can see from the picture. Until another holiday or birthday comes around, we should be okay.
For Valentine's Day, my dad bought me two small oncidia, and my mom sent me some money to pick one out here to avoid the dangers of shipping. I was thinking of buying just one or two nice ones, but when my friend Sarah and I went to Pac 8 Orchids on Overland in Palms, they had a discount section for the injured and sick! Pretty much the whole reason I started this project was because I feel sorry for the plants, so of course I had to save as many as I could! Most of the plants that I got were three for three dollars, or one for five, so I ended up with seven phalaenopses to take care of.
I need my mom's help, and that of rePotme.com to get these babies back to good health, so I've decided to post photos instead of describing them over the phone. They should be up soon.
